This painting was requested as a kind of memorial. The woman in the painting recently lost her battle with cancer and is holding the child of my client. She wanted the painting done in a sepia tone and given a softer look.

- I really enjoy painting things that fool the eye. Shadows placed just so, light that almost glows. I want to create an effect that generates the desire for the viewer to interact with the picture itself.
